Team HMU is an internal network university that supports the learning and development of team members, leaders and physicians at Hackensack Meridian Health. It is supported by certified internal instructors, as well as external training partners. Team members interested in Team HMU courses should log into Learning, the Hackensack Meridian Health learning management system (LMS) via MySuccess to register.

Administrative Professionals Academy
The courses offered in the Administrative Professionals Academy assist team members in addressing the changing roles and responsibilities that administrative professionals face on a daily basis. The Administrative Professionals Academy runs individual courses and workshops as well as a targeted internal certificate programs for those who have interest.


Aspiring Leader Academy
This educational series is designed to build leadership and professional development skills for team members aspiring to become leaders. These courses will give participants skills that help them lead not only themselves, but also lead a team and Hackensack Meridian Health to success.


Computer Training Academy
Whether you’re an established professional, new to Microsoft Office, or are looking to refresh your skills, there’s a very good chance this training has something for you. Here, you can learn the basics of Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word or further your skills in Advanced Excel and Advanced Word. You will learn tips, tricks, shortcuts and more to better use these programs in your daily job.


Human Experience Academy
A well-orchestrated experience comes when we have shared definitions and language, shared expectations, and a roadmap with clear priorities and goals. The Human Experience Academy offers all leaders and team members an opportunity to enhance their knowledge base around the factors that influence patient and team member experience. Tools for successful monitoring of experience metrics, action planning and projecting will all be invaluable to orchestrating excellence and Hackensack Meridian Health’s success.

Integrative Health Academy
Integrative health and medicine focuses on the health and wellness of the whole person — mind, body and spirit. It addresses the impact of lifestyle, environment, and genetics on an individual’s health and well-being. Through personalized care, integrative health and medicine goes beyond solely treating symptoms of an illness or managing chronic disease. It seeks to optimize health over one’s lifespan addressing the unique circumstances of the individual. Hackensack Meridian Integrative Health & Medicine approaches care and service from our Five Pillars of Health and Well-Being (Sleep, Activity, Purpose, Nutrition, and Resilience). As a caregiver, it is essential to your well-being that you practice self-care and take time to routinely fuel the flame that keeps your passion as direct care providers burning bright. The Academy of Integrative Health & Wellness series of classes have been designed with your personal well-being as the primary focus. Learn how to incorporate the Five Pillars of Health and Well-Being into your daily life and practice.

Team HMU provides programs designed to further enhance leadership skills and offers the framework and foundation for all levels of leadership by building the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to thrive as a leader. Physician Leadership Academy
The purpose of the Physician Leadership Academy is to create a pipeline of Hackensack Meridian Health physician leaders who are focused on the importance of strengthening the quality of patient care within the network and who lead the way in maximizing productivity, effectiveness and efficiency. This program focuses on developing the physician leaders of tomorrow and the role physician leaders play in continuing to move the organization forward in care transformation. Participants are personally selected to attend and participate.

Project Management Academy
The objective of the Project Management Academy at HMH is to develop team member Project Management competence by teaching project management best practices. Team members that follow Project Management best practices improve outcomes by defining project scope, resources, deliverables and timeline. Projects with clearly defined objectives and scope will likely finish on time and on budget.


Team Member Excellence Academy
In the Team Member Excellence Academy, we offer all team members training and development in numerous topics that help them learn specific knowledge or skills to improve performance in their current roles. Training, development and education are important to our team members’ growth and Hackensack Meridian Health’s success.
